The Cowane’s Trust is proud to announce its partnership with Go Forth as category sponsor for the Stirling Business Awards 2023. The Trust will sponsor the Outstanding Contribution to the City Award.

There are a total of ten categories for nominations including Café of The Year, Visitor Attraction of the Year, Hair & Beauty Business of the Year, Charity of the Year and a special award for Outstanding Contribution to the City.

Lorne Scott, Master & Factor/Chief Operating Officer of the Cowane’s Trust said: ‘Cowane’s was keen to support Stirling’s inaugural Business Awards and what could be more befitting than aligning our association with the category of Outstanding Contribution to the City award’.

More than 16,000 votes have been cast for companies nominated. The winners of the Stirling Business Awards 2023 will be announced during a black-tie ceremony at the city’s Golden Lion Hotel on Thursday February 23.

The event will be headlined by Celtic rock band Red Hot Chilli Pipers and hosted by Central FM.

Danielle McRorie-Smith, Project Director of Go Forth Stirling, the city’s Business Improvement District (BID), which launched the awards to recognise and reward the city’s independent business owners said: “We’ve had an amazing response to our business awards with more than 16,000 votes cast across the various award categories.

“We’re excited to see the winners revealed at the awards ceremony later this month and hope everyone who comes along has a fantastic time celebrating Stirling’s entrepreneurial business owners and the city’s unique independent scene.”

A total of 16,757 votes were cast for a shortlist of nominated businesses with Safebase Scotland, Stirling Street Pastors, Stirling Photography Festival, Ross Hastie Signwriters & Signmakers, Transition Stirling and Creative Stirling/Made in Stirling making the final for the Outstanding Contribution to the City award.

Since 1637, the Cowane’s Trust has been actively promoting and managing the legacy of John Cowane, caring for and supporting those in need, as well as heritage buildings, across Stirling and the surrounding area.

Lorne Scott Master & Factor/Chief Operating Officer of the Cowane’s Trust added: ‘as Scotland’s oldest charitable trust, John Cowane’s legacy was built upon the success and wealth of a merchant and it is befitting that his name is being associated with the Stirling Business Awards’.

The awards will be presented during a glitzy ceremony held at the city’s historic Golden Lion Hotel on Thursday February 23, 2023.
