Councillor Douglas Dodds

Chair, The Patrons of Cowane’s Hospital Trust

I am an Elected Member of Stirling Council. I was first elected in 2017 and re-elected  in 2022. My Ward is Dunblane and Bride of Allan. I am a retired Police Officer where I served my time in England for 30 years. When I retired I worked as an Health and Safety Coordinator for Her Majesty’s Court Service responsible for the management of Health and Safety for 23 court buildings and 400 staff.

When I moved to Scotland in 2009 I lived in Fife working on a country estate before moving to Bridge of Allan in 2011, where I still live. I am married and have two children.

I am a keen walker and gardener and very passionate about being involved with my Community. I am ever present within my Community and passionate about the area I live in. I am also a passionate supporter of Newcastle United whom I have supported for over 30 years.

At present I am the Provost of Stirling, which is a great honour, representing the Council and local communities at various ceremonial and other events throughout the year.

Upon election, the Provost of Stirling becomes ex-officio Chair of The Patrons of Cowane’s Hospital Trust. Cllr. Dodds has served as Chair of Cowane’s Trust since May 2022.
