I am an Elected member representing the North Ward of Stirling Council. I was elected in 2007 and have held numerous roles within the Council. Currently I’m the spokesperson on Environment and elected as Deputy Leader of the Council on 10th November 2025.

I am a retired Chartered Civil Engineer, having spent most of my career in the water and sewerage industry, and have a passion for Stirling and its Heritage.

Councillor Jim Thomson was nominated to be one of five serving Councillor Patrons on the Cowane’s Trust by the Elected Members of Stirling Council Wards 4, 5, and 6 and has been a Trustee since 2007.
